Handicare is a Norwegian-based conglomerate that provides various products to the healthcare industry and the home care market. Handicare AG manufactures stairlifts via two subsidiaries: the UK-based FreeLift, acquired in December 2007; and the UK-based Minivator, acquired in March 2010. (Both subsidiaries are now called Handicare Stairlifts.)
Handicare, from its acquisition of two stairlift manufacturers who each had a broad product offering, has a very extensive set of products.
At their formerly-called-Freelift subsidiary, the company manufactures three models appropriate for straight staircases; the Mondriaan, the Picasso, and the Elite Heavy Duty. And three models for curved staircases; the Van Gogh, the Rembrandt, and the Vermeer. There is quite an extensive set of options, relative to other stairlift companies; especially in relation to seating. Four different seats are offered, including a child-specific seat.
Handicare's formerly-Minivator subsidiary manufactures four straight stair stairlifts, the Simplicity, the Simplicity+, the Minivator 1000, and the Perch Stairlift; and one model for curved staircases, the Minivator 2000 Curved Stairlift; as well as an outdoor model, the Minivator 1000 Outdoor Stairlift (for straight stairs).
