Ameriglide is a United-States-based manufacturer of various mobility aids, including stair lifts, bath lifts, and residential elevators. They are managed out of Raleigh, NC; but have a strong Internet presence. Unlike many other manufacturers, Ameriglide has its own sales and marketing staff, and rather than relying solely on a network of resellers (which is nonetheless extant to some degree), the company prefers to sell from its own web site.
Another deviation from the norm is Ameriglide's having an actual storefront. While virtually all other manufacturers sell their products through in-home consultations, this company has a physical store that one may visit, to see and test their products.
The company's stair lift chair product offerings can be put into three categories: electric-powered, battery-powered, and heavy-duty stair lifts. As well as, obviously, selling new stair lifts; the company has two different categories of used stairlifts: the Used stair lifts are offered at the lowest price point, with the Reconditioned (sometimes called Refurbished) stair lifts offered at a slightly higher price point than the Used. (As the company's website is so skewed towards motivating a sale, it is difficult to ascertain with any degree of confidence what in fact is the difference between the two categories of used stairlifts.)
With large-scale operations and a competitive pricing approach, Ameriglide is considered the discount retailer of the stairlift segment. Prices range from about $1700 USD for the battery-powered stair lift, to about $2400 USD for the heavy-duty model.
New stair lifts, excepting the heavy duty models, are warranted for 10 years on the drive train and for five years on other components (for defects in material or workmanship). Heavy duty and Reconditioned models enjoy a two year warranty, while Used models have a quite misleading warranty "to the original purchaser," for 90 days, making it quite unclear as to what is really going on.
